The colors seep seamlessly together blending above.
The crickets chirp in the warm summer breeze.
The moon rises above the fountains and lagoons.
As the sun sinks slowly into the orange, blue, and purples.
How Great Thou Art comes on my phone and I raise my voice to my maker. The painter himself and sculptor of everything magical and wonderful in this world.
As I cry out Oh Lord I Need You, I remember my brokenness. How difficult it has been to remain close to Christ this summer. How hard it has been to remember to remain in the word. How much I have been relying on my own strength. The times I judge others or myself.
As the painting of utter beauty and vibrant color stretch across the sky my soul cries out and my eyes begin to leak.
I don’t appreciate this enough. I’m always waiting for God to reveal himself to me; in my future plans, in a relationship, through others, in the next big thing, but guess what, God has revealed himself to me. In this moment he whispers to me: come back, remember me, I’m here, it’s time for me to hold you and you to trust.
My God, the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit are the most profound artists of all time.
As I stared teary eyed in the distance, I began to realize, I don’t need to have found my future love, I don’t need to travel the world, I don’t need to know my future to know that God makes masterpieces.
You are a masterpiece, I am a masterpiece, this world is a masterpiece.
I’ve been rocking a lot of Andy Grammer songs lately because he reminds me of my time in Oz and there is this one song called Masterpiece which has the lyrics
“Close my eyelids, take a deep breath. Feel the lightening down to my chest. I’m just a piece of art, and the paints fresh cause I’m not yet finished yet. She whispers, you get one, one heartbeat so take it seriously. This is your masterpiece, don’t forget to dream, and taste the colors in the air you breathe. It’s your masterpiece, go ahead and feel it all, don’t stop till it is beautiful.”
Well guess what, God never stops still it is beautiful and thank him that we are not finished yet!
WE ARE HIS MASTERPIECE!
“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:10
THE WORLD IS HIS MASTERPIECE!
“God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning” Genesis 1:31
AND THIS IS AWESOME! WE CAN WITNESS THE MOST EXTRAORDINARY ARTIST OF ALL TIME, AND WE CAN KNOW HIM!
“And while we were still sinners Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8
I don’t know about you, but that blows my mind.
