Living is Adventure Through the Eyes of a Runner.

By the time you read this my dear friends and followers I will be deep under the sea in Belize where I am spending my spring break. My adventurous soul has returned and travel I must. I hope and pray this poem finds you happy and in adventurous spirit. I wrote it in early January as my heart was breaking for what was, now it still does, but the pain is no longer overwhelming. Be adventurous my friends, happy Wednesday.

Isn’t living an adventure enough?

The pain in my heart is overwhelming

As my breathing becomes quickened
It hurts to not be there
To be in the middle of nowhere
On my own
Amidst the misty mountains
To be falling in the sky
Just me and my mind
Over the roaring ocean
To be deep under the water
Breathing from a tank
Among the reef
Oh dear, how I long for adventure
How I ache for what was
How I anticipate what is to come
Why does it feel as though I am breaking when all i am doing is living.
Isn’t living an adventure enough?
isn't living adventure enough-

  1. I can relate to this feeling, especially when I think of Africa. After living there for a year, I think of it as my second home and I long to go back again.

    • What did you do while living in Africa? Isn’t it so hard to come back? I wish more than anything I could return to not only Australia, but also who I was there. This quote has been my life lately “You get a strange feeling when you’re about to leave a place, I told him, like you’ll not only miss the people you love but you’ll miss the person you are now at this time and this place, because you’ll never be this way ever again.” Stay strong, and know you can always return!

  2. I did mission work (taught Bible classes, spent time with locals, visited orphanages/schools, etc.). I loved it! It was so hard to come back, especially when it happened sooner than expected due to the ministry closing… I didn’t feel like I fit in anywhere when I returned. And, yes, I miss who I was there, too. I look forward to completing all my educational goals and returning to help the people in that aspect, too, one day!
