Mayhem in Mexico Through the Eyes of the Runner.

Last week my little brother, father, and family friend visited the warm, tropical eastern side of mexico!

It was nothing less than a huge adventure! Needless to say it was a week that was full of surprises, fun, prayers, wonders, and a lot of patience.

I think for this post I may share with you knowledge learned on each day in Mexico…..

sábado: A flight early in the morning leads to going through security quickly. Immigration takes FOREVER going into Mexico. Travel to Cancun during a hurricane leads to bad rain.

Pero nosotros tuvimos un buen vuelo!

domingo: Going to a “free, no pressure sales pitch for a time share in Mexico that’s supposed to be 90 minutes long”, means 90 minutes PER PERSON (we had 4*90=360 minutes). Never trust low ground valet parking during a flood. Locking your keys in the car in the middle of nowhere Mexico is not a good idea if you don’t know the translation for “coat hanger” in Spanish. Playing on the beach with a dog and two puppies while having drinks at a little hut is fun. And biggest lesson of the day: ALWAYS check the registration of your rental car to make sure it’s updated when driving in Mexico. The police who pull you over with machine guns and make you get out of the car do not like this. (pictures and full story to follow because it’s that good!)

lunes: If you were an ancient Mayan, Tulum would be the place to be. Small side beaches in Mexico are the best! And floods are not fun to drive in.

martes: Floods may impede your progress.

miércoles: Swimming in a cave is AWESOME (pictures to follow later). Old Mexican cities are so pretty! The Seven Wonders of the World are named that for a reason: Chichen Itza=WOW!

jueves: Snorkeling, sun, and Cozumel=FUN!

viernes: Sometimes a day of sun, beach, pool, and a swim up bar is what you need to finish off a high paced vacation!

sábado: Returning to the real world is sometimes necessary. Doesn’t mean you still can’t praise God for the bit of relaxation he gives you during your normal day, notice the beauty in the world, and pray hard!

“Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”

2 Corinthians 4:16-18

Lesson de la semana: The Lord is awesome!
